Day 1 @ HK (17 May)

Flight to HK was at 11am via Cathay Pacific CX 714. I woke up at around 7am only to find Siong playing with PSP and half packed. When I've already done, he was still packing. That's why we ended up in the airport at 10am. By the time we arrived, there were a long queue at the check in counter. I was so disappointed that me and Siong would have a separate seat as we did not online check-in using the internet. Haih..... Because we were not told and this was our first time by CX...... No choice lor..... Die die oso have to take the plane lor. As we were already late, we grabbed our so called breakfast at Sakae Sushi which cost around SGD 30+++. The flight was as normal and I was so boring that I kept taking pics of myself. Those aunties beside me must think that I am crazy. Both auntie would be transferring their flight to Taiwan from HK..... Kakaka.....

Taking pic of myself

Nice view

We reached HK International Airport at 3pm.

Heading towards luggage collection area

Train to luggage collection area.

After the luggage collection, we bought Octopus card which cost HKD 300 per card ( 2 way airport express and 3 days of unlimited MTR ride). I've forgotten the amount inside the card that can be used at convenience store. I think is either HKD 20 or 50.

Escalator to Airport Express

Inside Airport Express

We took the Airport Express to Tsing Yi and transferred to Lai King. The Airport line was fantastic. Other than the blinking destination, they have this blue light indicating the amount of time that you need to reach your destination.

Heading to Lai King MTR

Exit from Prince Edward MTR where our hotel was just across the street. Initially, we were lost but we managed to check on the map and realised that the hotel was just 5 mins walk from the MTR.

This was the place that we would spent for the next 5 days. We reached at around 5pm

The hotel corridor

We were so stupid that we let the bellboy to take our luggage upon arrival. Siong ended up giving him HKD 100 (around SGD 20) as tips to the guy because we did not have small change. Upon entering the room, I on the TV for the HK channel only to find that there were only 2 channels in Cantonese while the rest were in Mandarin. As I was watching, Siong pressed the wrong button on the TV and ended up being scolded by me. He called the operator to checked on our TV. Luckily, it was just a small error. The only thing that we need to do was...... use only the remote..... Don't press any button on TV.... Otherwise the preset channels would be all gone.... SO FUNNY!!!!

The view outside the hotel

Near our hotel

We wandered around the streets. Initially, I did plan the itinerary for street wandering. However, we did not followed the plan as those streets were nearby to each other, we went around without any problem.

Nathan Street

Sai Yeung Choi Street

Mini bus

Ice cream van

After a short walk, we managed to get a dessert place, Hui Lau San (Cantonese)/Xu Liu San (Mandarin). It was recommended in forum and also by my ex colleague. The dessert was mouth watering

Menu

This dessert was ordered by Siong. The taste was funny. Serve him right lor.... He did not take what the waitress recommended.

Mine was mouth watering and it cost around SGD 6. Damn nice!!!!!!!

Next we walked on to the street where I found my smelly tofu. This was the only pic of the smelly tofu and it was blur because Siong forgot to put macro mode to the camera.

Ladies street at night

We ended our street wandering at around 10pm where we took MTR from Jordan. Only then, we realised that we had travelled very far from Mongkok, our starting point.
